UPDATE: As I reported below, a source that seemed credible had published an article mentioning that Fifty Shades of Grey filming would not only be relocated to Miami (for bad weather purposes), but also that the series would be condensed into one film. I can now confirm that both claims are false and that the source is to never be trusted.
According to EFE, production has shifted from Vancouver to Miami due to bad weather. The cast will spend two weeks in Miami before they leave for the Spanish Canary Islands to shoot the honeymoon scenes.
Miami, Jan 5 (EFE).- The production team for the “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie has decided to shoot scenes in Miami this week after cancelling filming in Vancouver, Canada, due to bad weather, representatives of the production company told Efe.
Stars Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson will spend two weeks in Miami shooting scenes, many of which will be filmed in the South Florida city’s downtown.
“The downtown Miami skyline looks a lot like downtown Vancouver,” production company representatives said.
Many of the scenes for the movie, directed by Sam Taylor Johnson, being filmed in Miami will be exterior shots.
The planned meeting between star Jamie Dornan and Alessandro Proto, the businessman who inspired the erotic trilogy by E. L. James.
James’s trilogy will be condensed into just one film, the production company said in a recent statement.
Shooting will shift to Tenerife, one of Spain’s Canary Islands, in February for the honeymoon scenes.
