According to Deadline, Victor Rasuk, best known for his breakout role in Lords of Dogtown, will play José Rodriguez, the lustful friend to Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) and the other third to the love triangle.
They’ve cast one of the final major roles in Fifty Shades Of Grey, the Universal Pictures and Focus Features adaptation of EL James’ global bestseller that stars Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele and Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey. Victor Rasuk has been set to play Jose, the aspiring photographer and classmate of Anastasia, whose close friendship with the young girl — he’d like it to be more — pits him as rival for her affections with Grey, the wealthy businessman whose warped past leaves him with a need to dominate his partners and unable to accept Anastasia on equal terms (yes, I read the damn book).
According to The Hollywood Reporter, filming for Fifty Shades of Grey has been pushed back to December 2nd. This change from its original November start date could cause the film’s release to shift. We’ll stay tuned and let you know what happens!
Due to the last-minute scramble to replace the lead role, Fifty Shades of Grey‘s production start date has been pushed about a month.
The production, which was scheduled to begin shooting in early November, will now begin filming on Dec. 2, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. The delay raises the question of whether or not the film can be ready in less than eight months to meet its current release date of Aug. 1, 2014. If not, the film would likely be jettisoned out of the summer frame.
Luke Grimes, who played James (the free love, hippie vampire Jessica uses as an escape from the real world) from HBO’s “True Blood”, has reportedly joined the cast of FIFTY SHADES OF GREY. Luke will play Christian Grey’s (Jamie Dornan) brother, Elliot.
FIFTY SHADES OF GREY is set to begin filming November 1st in Vancouver.
Variety is reporting that Universal/Focus Features has officially found our new Christian Grey! And ladies, you are going to like their choice! Drum roll, please ….. JAMIE DORNAN, best known for his role as the Huntsman in ABC’s “Once Upon a Time”.
Northern Irish actor Jamie Dornan has been tapped to replace Charlie Hunnam as Christian Grey in the Universal and Focus adaptation of “Fifty Shades of Grey.”
I don’t know about y’all, but he is way more what I had pictured for Christian Grey. He’s lustfully scruffy, more lean than muscular, and mysterious. What are your thoughts? Do you like him better than Charlie?
On Friday, Oct 18th, Billy Magnussen (INTO THE WOODS) and Jamie Dornan (“Once Upon A Time”) tested with Dakota Johnson to replace Charlie Hunnam’s Christian Grey in FIFTY SHADES OF GREY. Thanks to The Hollywood Reporter for the breaking news. This is the latest news regarding recasting for the untimely Charlie Hunnam departure for the role. We reported earlier this weekend that Clint Eastwood’s son, Scott Eastwood was being considered for the role as well.
Universal Pictures and Focus Features have a tight production schedule to attend to for a pre-determined August 1, 2014 release date. Filming is set to begin November 1st.
What are your thoughts on Magnussen and Dornan? Do they fit the Christian Grey mold?
After Charlie Hunnam announced he would no longer play Christian Grey in the upcoming FIFTY SHADES OF GREY film, the race to find a replacement has begun. Clint Eastwood’s son, Scott Eastwood, is the next victim in the gossip columns’ game, according to Just Jared.
Charlie’s untimely departure (as in, production is starting in November, ‘untimely’) from the project has led to media speculation. Charlie reportedly said that the reason for his leave was due to the seemingly uncontrollable, instantaneous fan-frenzy and his commitment to “Sons of Anarchy.” We all know that “Sons of Anarchy” was not going to cause conflict with his schedule; however, Charlie is smart in protecting his image in this way.
Scott Eastwood as Christian Grey is an interesting choice. He’s relatively unknown, other than his relation to his famous father. This could, perhaps, be the best for the film; however, I have my doubts about whether Dakota Johnson, who plays the female lead Anastasia Steele, will have chemistry with Scott.
What are your thoughts? Do you think Scott would make a good Christian Grey?
According to a statement issued by Universal/Focus Features, Charlie Hunnam has officially dropped out of Fifty Shades of Grey and the role of Christian Grey.
“The filmmakers of Fifty Shades Of Grey and Charlie Hunnam have agreed to find another male lead given Hunnam’s immersive TV schedule which is not allowing him time to adequately prepare for the role of Christian Grey.”
This untimely exit has put the studio into overdrive to find another Christian before production begins, November 1st. Something is telling me that that schedule just isn’t going to work. In all honesty, I think this is a blessing for us because there was something about Charlie that wasn’t quite right. He didn’t fit my mold (as many of you can agree with me) of Christian Grey.
